Listen. I'm a hillbilly homesteader with a sailor mouth, a husband, 2 gorgeous girls, and a shitload of farm animals. None of which are cows but I digress. We started...I mean I started homesteading in the summer of 2022 with 3 big asshole hogs, a garden, and 6 chickens. We ate those hogs, the garden was amazing, all but 1 of those chickens has gone to the great chicken coop in the sky. This has grown from just providing for our family to providing for our community. I am starting the Farmers Market back up in our city for cryin' out loud. I love everything about the homestead lifestyle. My kids love the animals and tomatoes. My husband loves when it pays for itself and the jalapeno cheddar sourdough bread. The community we have been able to create through social media (TikTok mainly) truly showed me how much more there is to homesteading than just being off grid. It's like a choose your own adventure. Start small and grow or be like me and do everything at once and realize you're probably not ready for this and take some time to organically grow. Our main advice is to have fun. Homesteading is not just a hobby. It's a lifestyle and you can do with that whatever you dream to do. If you want to know more about our family, our homestead, or to learn about everything we do just follow along at all the socials and listen to the podcast once it drops. Of course, I'll have to get off my lazy ass and start recording and stop playing with baby pigs but I'll make it happen!
